Career Interests: In the future, I want to double major in political science as well as environmental science, while minoring in communications and journalism. I’ve always been politically active in my community, as I encourage the youth in Jersey City to participate in annual elections, rallies, and events. As one of the most diverse cities in the country, I believe it is imperative that all of our voices be heard. Additionally, I am environmentally aware, and I believe that it is our duty to keep the environment alive and healthy. Throughout my high school career, I have always enjoyed the humanities just as much as the sciences and I believe that a career that allows me to apply both of these is my ideal career.
Favorite Quote: “There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must do it because conscience tells him it is right” – Martin Luther King Jr. This quote is important to me because it has taught me to stay true to myself and my values. Many times we’re faced with situations that can cause us to consider compromising our values. The less we allow ourselves to think freely and develop our own belief system, the more we become followers without our own sense of direction. I think it’s always important to stay true to yourself and your values; as long as you’re following your moral compass, you’ll never head in the wrong direction.
