Career Interests: In the future, I’d like to pursue a career in the medical field as a Physician Assistant. This field is not only a rigorous profession in the medical industry, but also one that puts an emphasis on the importance of being able to help people from all backgrounds.
Favorite Quote: As stated by Eleanor Roosevelt, “People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built”. The former first lady’s words exemplify the fact that one must endure multiple challenges to be able to arrive at a position they hope to be at. Being a first-generation Indian American, this is especially important as a result of the much bias and prejudice that inevitably occurs. Growing up, any career in the STEM field was something I always tried to avoid. The existing stereotypes surrounding individuals of Asian American descent in those lines of work made me neglect any opportunity pertaining to those occupations. However, as Roosevelt had said, it is vital to remain genuine to yourself and your beliefs. Rather than being afraid, these experiences are meant to be learned from in order to better yourself and those around you.
